🎸 Suwon Sound Market Vol.2: "Polish It, Tighten It, Oil It Up!"
There are few things in this world that don't taste good when chewed — and even fewer objects that don't make a sound when hit.
Strike someone's back with a back-scratcher and you'll hear a satisfying thwack. Hurl a stainless tumbler from the district office onto the floor and a clear tone rings out. What matters is how hard you hit it and how far you throw it.
Back-scratchers, tumblers, whatever mysterious object you have — bring it. On this day, polish it with care, tighten every bolt, and oil it up before you arrive.
Gyeonggi Art Collective has prepared a marketplace for those who've lost their touch — where instruments (or things that will soon be treated as instruments) are shared, loud conversations are had, lubricant is consumed, and every kind of sound is exchanged.
📅 Date: Sunday, June 21, 2026 · 14:00–19:00
📍 Venue: DOT (B1F, 34-1 Hwaseomun-ro, Paldal-gu, Suwon)
💰 Admission: Free for everyone!
[Part 1] Flea Market (14:00~17:00)
Stalls line up selling things that make sounds — or things that will soon become instruments. Workshops happen. Enjoy the air conditioning at your leisure.
[Part 2] Bundle Auction (17:00~19:00)
Musicians from near and far take the stage. Watch acts complete their setup, PR, performance, item showcase, and self-auction — all within 15 minutes.
Part 1 participants get a 3-hour stall. Run a lesson or workshop, sell coffee or dumplings, or just sit and stare at your open laptop — as long as it's interesting, you're in. No booth fee.
Part 2 participants get 15 minutes. (Setup included!) Use it for a performance, auction, self-promotion, feats of skill — go wild! No participation fee.
You must bring at least 1 item to sell — tangible or intangible, goods or labor. It's genuinely hard to find objects that don't make a sound when hit. At Vol.1 we had milk, leftover coffee beans, accessories, and people selling themselves as servants.
10% Solidarity: We collect 10% of on-site sales as a voluntary contribution. This goes toward the after-party, staff appreciation, and general cleanup.
